EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) is an evidence-based therapy that helps process memories and experiences that feel “stuck” in the body and nervous system. When distressing events aren’t fully processed, they can continue to show up as anxiety, panic, mood changes, intrusive memories, or feeling easily triggered. EMDR uses bilateral stimulation, such as eye movements, tapping, or audio tones, while gently focusing on specific memories, allowing the brain to reprocess them in a more adaptive way. Over time, these memories become less emotionally intense and less disruptive, helping clients feel more regulated, grounded, and able to move forward. EMDR can be adapted for teens and adults and is often helpful for trauma, attachment wounds, anxiety, and related concerns.
sand tray therapy
Sandtray Therapy is a therapeutic tool that can be integrated into individual therapy sessions to support deeper emotional processing when words feel limited. Using small figures and a tray of sand, clients may explore thoughts, emotions, or experiences in a visual and hands-on way. Sandtray allows the nervous system to engage in healing at a deeper level, often helping clients access and process things they may not yet have language for. This approach is used thoughtfully and collaboratively, alongside talk therapy and other modalities, based on each client’s needs and comfort level. Sandtray can be especially helpful for teens and adults who feel stuck, overwhelmed, or unsure how to begin sharing their experiences.

I am not in network with any insurance plans. Private-pay counseling offers added privacy, flexibility, and an individualized approach guided by your unique needs and goals.
Upon request, I can provide a superbill to submit to your insurance company for possible reimbursement (if your plan includes out-of-network benefits). Coverage varies by plan, so if you are unsure I recommend confirming your out-of-network benefits directly with your insurance provider.

You don’t have to be in crisis to benefit from therapy. Many people seek therapy when they feel overwhelmed, stuck, anxious, or unsure how to navigate something in their life. If something is impacting your emotional well-being, relationships, or daily functioning, or if you simply want extra support and space to process, therapy may be a helpful next step.

Trauma is the body’s response to experiences that feel overwhelming or difficult to process. When something happens too quickly, lasts too long, or occurs without enough support, the nervous system may hold onto that stress. Over time, this can show up as anxiety, depression, emotional reactivity, disconnection, or physical symptoms.

The frequency of counseling depends on your goals and the concerns bringing you to therapy. Most clients start with weekly or biweekly sessions and gradually transition to less frequent appointments as their goals are achieved.
